- Gateway
- DIN-rail box: Raspberry Pi CM4 on an industrial carrier, two network ports (one faces your machines, one faces the uplink) plus a built-in cellular modem, so the uplink works without touching plant Wi-Fi or waiting on an IT ticket. Pre-flashed; no laptop on the floor.
- Protocols
- 18 supported across three families: PLCs & controllers (Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi, LS Electric, OPC-UA), CNC/sensors/meters (FANUC FOCAS, MTConnect, Modbus TCP/RTU, direct-wired digital & analog), and a raw-connector escape hatch. The direct-wired path covers machines with no controller at all: 4-20mA analog inputs (a standard clamp-on current transducer wires straight in), isolated digital inputs (dry contacts, stack lights, cycle switches), and a relay output. Connects over Ethernet, Serial, or wired straight into the panel.
- Data path
- Outbound-only. Machine data leaves over MQTT/TLS, and the control connection runs over HTTPS. No inbound port opened on your plant network, no VPN, no static IP. The two network ports keep your machine network separate from your office network; wired is preferred when it is available, and the gateway fails over to its own cellular automatically if the wire drops, no reboot required.
- When the internet drops
- The box keeps reading tags and buffers on-site (store-and-forward). Wallboards on the floor keep running. When the connection returns, it backfills, and the outage stays visible in the history.
- Read-only posture
- Never writes to your PLCs. There is no code path in the product that writes back to a controller, by default or on request. It reads and recommends. Your people act.
- If the box dies
- We ship a replacement, pre-flashed the same. DIN-rail swap, power it up, it claims itself and the cloud re-pushes its config. About ten minutes, no expertise on site.
General notes
- Does it need our IT?
- No. One network drop on the machine side; the uplink can be your network or the gateway's own cellular. Nothing to stand up, no ports to open, no static IP, no waiting on a firewall ticket.
- What happens when the internet drops?
- The box keeps reading tags and buffers on-site. The wallboards keep running, and when the connection comes back, it backfills.
- Can it write to my PLCs?
- No. Read-only, period. There is no code path that writes back to a controller. It reads and recommends. Your people act.
- What if the box dies?
- We ship a replacement. Swap it on the DIN rail, power it up, it pulls its config back down: about ten minutes.
- What about machines with no controller at all?
- The gateway reads them directly, same as it reads your PLCs: 4-20mA analog inputs, isolated digital inputs, and a relay output, wired in by our tech during install. No PLC, no network drop, no tags, no second box.
